About Tony
Dr. Anthony Durkin is an Assistant Professor at the Beckman Laser Institute in the School of Medicine at UC Irvine. Dr. Durkin's broad research interests center on quantitative, in vivo optical spectroscopy and imaging of tissue function. He is developing new methods both as a means for detecting disease and providing feedback for optimizing therapeutic applications of medical laser technology. His specific focus is on understanding processes such as dysplasia, malignancy, and wound healing in epithelial tissues such as skin, oral cavity, and cervix.
